It's two minutes to midnight on the liberty deathclock. If we don't fight hard to take back our freedoms RIGHT NOW, we may not regain them.

Your support helps me do the following things:
Repair the Libertarian Party.
Provide resources to other libertarians who want to make the LP more effective.
Provide resources to people who want to fight the state at the local level.

Let's take back our party, take back our cities and reverse the tide of authoritarianism.

Do We Need Another Ron Paul Revolution?

I had a debate with Matt Erickson on Lions of Liberty yesterday and the debate resolution was "Do we need another Ron Paul Revolution?" I argued in the affirmative. Predictably, Matt was kind of all over the place. I've copied my opening statement below and I'll be adding different sections of the debate and my thoughts on post libertarianism over the next week. There are about 15 pages of it so there will be plenty of posts from me over the next couple weeks.

About Ron Paul

There were 2 moments in Ron Paul’s career that reverberated across the country and shook me to the core. They are: the “What If” speech Dr. Paul delivered to congress in 2009, and his “Guiliani Moment” during the 2007 presidential debates.

Those statements Ron Paul made are moments in time that are permanently embedded in my psyche. Like countless other people, they rewired my brain in a radical way and woke me up to the evils of the state.

In spite of being sabotaged by the GOP, and hated by neocons and the mainstream media, the Ron Paul Revolution inspired a groundswell of liberty activism not seen in this country since its founding. Ron Paul woke up thousands and thousands of people to the message of liberty.

We were so moved by Ron, that some of us have toiled together for the cause of freedom for 10 or 14 years. And it’s been a real journey. There’ve been highs and there’ve been lows. And right now we’re in a low. (hodl) We’re in a low because of lockdowns and because so many people around us have ceded their personal freedom to the state - out of terror, anger or apathy.

Black Pilled

And there are people in libertarian circles who have given up hope.

They believe that people don’t want freedom and are happy to be slaves and snitches for the state so long as they’re fed and entertained.

There are people who believe that most Americans have bought into mainstream narratives about coronavirus and that people want to be locked up. They cite polls that say 70% of Americans approved of the lockdowns. They point to the state of our totalitarian government as evidence that the Ron Paul Revolution has failed and that we will never succeed in waking up the masses.

Well, I’ll ask you this:

Ron Paul Revolution’s Impact

How many people listening to this debate were touched by the Ron Paul movement? By one of his presidential races, or an event, by one of his speeches - like the Guiliani moment - or by one of his books? Maybe it was years after he ran - but you heard about him and watched one of his videos. You heard about the Mises Institute from him. You heard about Tom Woods. You heard about libertarianism. You questioned what you heard on the news.

How many of you wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the Ron Paul Revolution?

The Ron Paul Revolution planted the seeds of liberty in countless hearts & minds. It awakened the thirst for freedom we saw sweep across the country in 2008 and 2012. It inspired Students for Liberty, Young Americans for Liberty, the Mises Caucus and many of the liberty movement’s best messengers.

The Ron Paul Revolution didn't just reach out to libertarians - it united the anti-war left, anarchists, conservatives, hippies, and radicals of all kinds. Within 2 presidential cycles, it created an infrastructure of liberty activists that were able to spread the message of freedom and support liberty-minded congressmen like Justin Amash and Thomas Massie.

It was the first wave in a movement, and it pushed two radical (now obvious) ideas that 1) wars for empire are destructive and antithetical to liberty, and that 2) the Federal Reserve destroys the value of the dollar.

Revolution 2.0
And we are the second wave in the Revolution. And our rally cry is to oppose lockdowns and the war on COVID. We are the Ron Paul Revolution 2.0.

Most of us agree that Ron Paul was just too perfect of a person and a candidate. That we can never fill his shoes. None of us can be a country doctor who delivered thousands of babies in our congressional district. I don’t know if any of us alone can ever measure up to the standard that Ron Paul set.

That’s why it takes a team of us now.

Tom Woods, Dave Smith, Scott Horton, Maj Toure, Gene Epstein, Michael Boldin, Michael Heise…all of us, Marc & Brian, too.

Every single person I listed is like a general in the Ron Paul movement.

We are engaged in a great battle of ideas.

The forces of light and darkness in this country are clashing violently, and it is not in our best interests to retreat under cover of black-pilled darkness. Only light chases out darkness and it’s our duty to shine a light on this tyrannical hellscape and usher people towards freedom - not to hide our light under a bushel.

This is our purpose.

If you think all is lost - if you think the world as we know it is about to slip forever from our grasp - I counter you with the notion that the mainstream narratives are crumbling.

People are NOT all getting the vaccine - people are NOT all staying indoors - people are NOT all complying with mask mandates.

Viewership of mainstream news networks is at an all time low. Viewership for alt media that openly questions the COVID regime is at an all time high - and it is growing.

The world is ripe for the 2nd wave of the Ron Paul Revolution, and it will happen with or without you.

For those of you that think things look hopeless, that we’re in the blackest period of American History and that our freedoms are all but lost, I’ll counter you with this: we are witnessing the state fight it’s very hardest because it is on the verge of crumbling and now is the time to assemble the Ron Paul Revolution 2.0.

Why do we need a Ron Paul Revolution 2.0?

People are clamoring for a way out of tyranny and the propaganda nightmare. There is a very real demand for us.

“It’s happening” - the Ron Paul slogan sums it up perfectly: You can't stop an idea whose time has come.

And “It’s happening” with or without you. The question is do you have the vision and clarity to be a part of it?

The Ron Paul Revolution 2.0 IS happening. The question isn’t really whether or not we need it - the question is why would you try to stop it?

Julian Assange Is Free

By now, I'm sure you've heard the good news that Julian Assange is free.

Julian has taken a plea deal that includes "time served", which means he won't have to spend any more time in prison. After a Court hearing in the USA, he can go back home to his wife and two young children.

Stella Assange and Gabriel Shipton have worked on this for many years with Julian's legal team. So has Julian's father. Thomas Massie has wielded incredible influence lately with his House Resolution, and with the support of MTG and The Squad. Australia's PM also applied pressure, as did several other Australian government officials.

I'm proud to say the Libertarian Party played a small, but important role, too. While the Biden admin is not communicating with us directly like the Trump team is, they are watching us closely and trying to outmaneuver Trump's overtures to us. They have reached out to people I know and inquired about Ross, for example. Their move to free Assange was partly motivated by their desire to win the election, and our support. That's huge news for our party and our movement.

Major thanks to Tim Pool, who asked Trump about freeing Julian Assange at our national convention. That was also a significant catalyst to this event.

We have the power to free political prisoners and save people's lives. I will continue to lean fully into that and to maximize its potential.

Thank you for supporting the work that I do and for continuing to support the Libertarian Party. We are in a great place right now.

My Talk At The LPMC Take Human Action Tour

The Mises Caucus just wrapped its tour of Austrian economists and libertarian influencers with its last stop in Austin, TX. I planned to speak at the afterparty, but the event location, Parler & Yard, totally messed up our reservation and scheduled a live band at the same time. Fail.

I spoke at the candidate training the next day instead, and touched on some important things like data collection and walk lists, in addition to my planned talk for the afterparty. Here's a rough draft of the talk I gave. I have a lot more to say on some of these topics as they become increasingly relevant in intraparty politics and as we enter into the 2024 election cycle.

----------

LP Texas is in a difficult spot. The GOP is fighting an existential threat here, against democrats and gun control. The thought of Texas turning to a blue state chills me to the bone. I understand why Republicans are trying to drive out the Libertarian Party. Sometimes LP Texas comes across as California, when it needs to be more like Davy Crockett. We need to be seen as the backup, the reinforcements, not the leftists who champion cringe causes like child transition.

What do you want your little slice of the world to look like? Think about that and put it out there for people to see.

The shit that we’re doing is hard.

We’ve got to  run administrative processes, fundraise, train candidates and understand policy while responding to current events and setting our own cultural trajectory.

It’s challenging. It’s a lot of work, but no one ever said it was going to be easy.

The levels get harder and harder, like a video game. Taking over party leadership is like level 2 in a 20 level game.

2024 needs to be a year of Reckoning for the people in positions of political power. 2018 was weak sauce. Republicans have no idea how to play the game.

When Saul Alinski was asked if he could organize any place, which place did he choose? He said he would organize hell. That's what these people want. They want to unleash hell on Earth.

And we can't let them.

That's what we're up against.

And the work that's involved in combating them requires a lot wisdom and discernment.

We have to recognize our ability to become monsters in order to defeat monsters. But we cannot allow ourselves to actually become that monster.

Because evil can never drive out evil. Evil invites evil in. That's the lesson of communism. That's the lesson of Nazi Germany.

Evil can never overcome evil and then switch back to good. And that's why Alinsky tactics cannot be successfully employed by libertarians or conservatives.

There is great political evil afoot. Sometimes people get uncomfortable with that word because it’s a spiritual sort of word. Well maybe we’re fighting a spiritual battle and maybe we aren’t. But the first step in losing the battle to evil is to explain it away or try to pretend that it doesn’t exist.

There is no room for naivety going into 2024.

I think our mistake in the past has been that we were far too lenient with allowing evil into our midst and it's put us at a great disadvantage.

The evil people have risen to power and they're ahead of us. On some level, many of us (throughout history) felt bad about calling it out. We wanted to be inclusive, we didn't want to seem like bullies, we wanted to be progressive. And evil got a foothold. And it crept in. And it took charge.

But the story isn't finished yet. And I do believe that in the end, good triumphs over evil.

Now we have to use our best judgment to figure out who around us is just misguided and who is truly evil. That's where issue coalitions come in. Truly evil people wont share common cause with you.

It's our duty to lovingly but assertively share the truth with misguided people so they do not fall prey to evil.

And we must give no quarter to evil. We are a new generation. We are not the complacent boomer generation. We are not McCains or Cheneys. We have the energy and fortitude to run principled, local campaigns and to rebuke evil all the way up to the World Economic Forum, not just in words but through our actions.

We can win local elections. We can run counter economies. We can drive them out of our towns. We can cut them off from our people. We're gonna be like the shepherds who defend their flocks from wolves.

Embody that energy going into 2024. No predators allowed. There's a new sheriff in town and we're here to drive out the evil.
